Hetic is a Digital Communication school, based near Paris. After graduating, the staff asked me to create a short commercial, to be broadcast on No-Life channel.
There was no specification, so I developed a creative proposal with four phases : 3 bullet points, then the logo and the baseline. The short duration required it to be concise, accurate and punchy – no mean feat!
The themes were quite fun and I had a great degree of freedom in creating the three scenes. Each of them is composed of elements whith reference to the bullet point.
For this project, I decided to use the 1.8 V-Ray rendering engine. I had already used it before, but I wanted to push myself to go further and I spent three days testing different render settings to fully optimise the rendering time. I read thoroughly the documentation on V-Ray to understand its complex operations. I used a render farm to generate the 250 images of the animation. Post-production and 2D animation were created with After Effects. This project required about 30 working days.
